Bog

I've decided that the only way to make it through this last stretch of winter  is to visualize warmer weather.
Goodbye dear January! It was a nice start, but now I'm cold.

In the Thick of It

Sorry for my late post. I'm in the thick of it, as they say.
I've been painting some large birch trees, which are soon to be in my shop,
a companion for that dear little cardinal which flew away,
and these woodland thickets, which seem very nest-like to me.
Have a lovely evening! I'll be back soon.

Fly With Me

My friend must be a bird, Because it flies! Mortal my friend must be, Because it dies!
Barbs has it, like a bee. Ah, curious friend, Thou puzzlest me!

Barking Up The Wrong Tree

Birdie, Chuck and I had our weekly visit with the dog trainer last night.
It's always an eye opening experience and I realize that we need to be trained as much as the puppy!
We actually have homework to do this weekend. There will be no frolicking in the forest for me.
So I'll have to content myself with these new paintings in my shop.
Happy Friday all!

I'm Lichen It

Well friends, my drawing room just got a little bit larger today.
So please pardon me as I'm still arranging and fluffing a bit.
I hope you still feel at home here.
I have to say, I'm lichen it!

Monday Map

A map for Monday.
While I love making lists and charting a course.
I don't like to over do it,  plan too much, go too far.

Writing things down is only a way to get started
and shake the ideas out of my head.
Thinking too much and not doing becomes premature editing.

I strongly believe in making a lot of work in order to make things work.
People write to me a lot and ask for guidance and advice,
and the first thing I tell them is to work, work, work.
Keep the momentum going.

Vultures and Mister Darcy

One week into 2011 and sometimes a blank slate is, well,
too much of a blank if you know what I mean.
So I've been taking walks in the woods, spying on the vultures
who seem to taunt me with their presence each winter.

Looking around the little castle or little Pemberley,
(our pet name for our tiny cottage), for inspiration.

Gazing into the eyes of my Mister Darcy,
who is really Mister Waller, but does it matter?
And while I've been excessively diverted,
perhaps it is time to get back work.
